MY STORY

Let’s face it, we all have a story waiting to be heard. It’s how we learn what our superpowers are. I think everything in my life has lead me to this moment -where you would learn how I became a coach, writer, and consultant. Before we get any further I want you to know three things about me:

  1. I have an obsession with learning new things. (I have a bookshelf and audible account to prove it )
  2. I am an empath. I feel the energy, and emotions of others around me without them having to tell me.
  3. I am stronger than an obstacle placed in front of me. Even when I don’t believe in myself, I step up to the challenge and allow grace to carry me through.

Okay here’s a bonus one: I enjoy doing hard things. The hard things are the most rewarding.

Early in my career I struggled with how people treated me. I found that leaders could recognize I was a "high potential" performer but they lacked the ability to speak, manage or provide feedback. Sometimes race played a huge part in it because sometimes I was the only black professional around. Many times I was also the first time they interacted with anyone like me. This  started to make me question my own potential.

After a while these interactions  and life took a toll on my mental health. I started working with a therapist to unpack grief, workplace trauma, and the natural challenges that come with navigating life. During these interactions I gained confidence and clarity about who I was and what that meant for how I wanted to show up in the world. I started to dream, rebuild my confidence and visualize what my goals were again.

This inspired me to make the same changes to others around me. I took my  my natural abilities to connect, listen, and create space for others for granted. Before therapy I never looked at my ability to build relationships and create fun learning experience could be a career.

I did some research on coaching. I was attached my the ability to help others see their future as a canvas they create verse being an audience member. No matter where you are in life, you have the ability to dream.  My practice is all about building the awareness and those skills and freedom to dream, plan, and execute with realistic vision.  When is the last time you've dream and created a plan to execute? Are you experiencing any blocks about what's next? Lets connect !
